Overview
On Rotation is a mobile application that helps you browse and manage your vinyl record collection using data from Discogs. This privacy policy explains what data the app collects, how it is stored, and your rights regarding that data.
What Data We Collect
Discogs Account Data
When you connect your Discogs account, we access the following through the Discogs API:
- Your Discogs username, avatar, and profile information
- Your collection data (releases, folders, ratings)
- Your wantlist
This data is used solely to display your collection within the app.
Crash Reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
If enabled, the app sends anonymous crash reports to help us identify and fix bugs. These reports may include:
- Device model and operating system version
- App version and state at the time of the crash
- Your Discogs username (to correlate crash patterns)
You can disable crash reports at any time in the app's Privacy settings.
Usage Analytics (Firebase Analytics)
If enabled, the app collects anonymous usage data to help us improve the experience. This includes:
- Which screens you visit
- Features you use (search, sync, barcode scanning)
- Collection size (bucketed, not exact)
No personal content (artist names, release titles, collection details) is included in analytics. You can disable analytics at any time in the app's Privacy settings.
How Data Is Stored
- On your device: All collection data is stored locally using SQLite and MMKV. Authentication tokens are stored in the device's secure keychain (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).
- We do not operate servers: On Rotation does not have its own backend. Your data flows directly between your device and Discogs, or between your device and Firebase (for crash reports and analytics only).
- No cloud backup of your data: Your collection data exists only on your device. If you delete the app, all local data is permanently removed.

This application uses Discogs' API but is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Discogs.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
- We do not use cross-app tracking or advertising identifiers.
- We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or any data outside of what is described above.
Your Rights
- Opt out of crash reports and analytics: Toggle these off at any time in Profile > Privacy.
- Delete your data: Disconnect your Discogs account in the app (Profile > Disconnect Account) and delete the app. This removes all local data from your device. Crash and analytics data already sent to Firebase is retained according to Google's data retention policies.
- Access your data: Your collection data is visible within the app. For data held by Discogs, refer to Discogs' privacy policy.
Children's Privacy
On Rotation is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
